The Punjabi movie Hero Hitler in Love was played by Roy in 2011. From 2011 to 2014 she achieved fame by playing the role of Sati in the Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev’s mystical series in Life OK.

In Life OK’s Junoon – Aisi Nafrat Toh Kaisa Ishq, in 2013, she played as a leader in the Meera against Aditya Redij. In 2014, Mouni took part in Colors Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’s dance reality show with Punit Pathak in its seventh season.

In 2015, Roy came back on TV with the supernatural series Naagin of Ekta Kapoor playing Shivanya inverse Arjun Bijlani and Adaa Khan.

Roy has described her character: “I have a straightforward look at this show, very little makeup, not so much eye shadow, I love it.

I’m playing Shivanya, who is a simplistic, innocent person, a dreamer lost in her own mind. The series has rounded up the TRP charts, making it a household name not only in India, but it’s also a huge star in other countries.

She became a member of the Box Cricket League Bijlani’s Mumbai Tigers team. Together with Rithvik Dhanjani, she attended the dance show So You Think You Can Dance on & TV.

In Season Two of Naagin, she played two roles, with the male lead being Karanvir Bohra.

She was highly regarded by the audience and established as a leading actress in the Indian TV industry with Bijlani in Stage 1 and Bohra in Stage 2.

In the animated film Mahayodha Rama 2016, Roy spoke to Sita’s role. She appeared in Tum Bin 2 the same year in the song “Nachna Aunda Ni.”

In 2018, Roy debuted in Bollywood with Reema Kagti’s Akshay Kumar in Gold. Her performance has been commended. Suparna Sharma of the Asian era reconstructs her performance and sensuality. 

It emerged as a commercial success with global sales of 1,5 billion dollars and was the first Indian film to have a theatre release in South Arabia.

Roy followed Gold’s success in December 2018 with an item number “Gali Gali,” which was mentioned in the Hindi edition of K.G.F: Chapter 1. The song was highly popular and was praised for her dance, the replay of a track from Tridev (1989).

More than 300 million views have been received on YouTube since then. She appeared in May 2019 as Mahanaagrani Shivangi in the last few episodes of Naagin 3.

In 2020, in her first OTT feature film London Confidential, she starred as a pregnant R&AW spy named Uma Kulkarni.

While the film didn’t please critics, they praised Roy. Rediff wrote, “Mouni Roy has a different view of playing her part and is in a new avatar to the earlier gold and china performances.”

The Indian superhero trilogy Brahmāstra, directed by Ayan Mukherjee and produced by Karan Johar is the forthcoming large-scale project in 2020. The major antagonist will be played in the movie.
