Aubameyang Nets 50th Premier League Goal

Do you mind if it is going to be a stretch to say that the first July was Arsenal’s best day of 2020? If allowed, it’s been a stinker of the year; and that’s before we’ve got to the matter of a global pandemic. Here is the story of how all this happened unexpectedly. And the Arsenal team was found standing on the victory stand.

The Gift, Received by the Arsenal Squad

The climax of the game started, when Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returned to goalscoring form as he was surprisingly gifted two goals by a Norwich side seemingly certain for Premier League downgrading. The Arsenal players, who are also called “The Gunners” seem to have found their flow following a slow restart. And made out 4-0 winners on their first Emirates Stadium appearance in the previous four months.

Achilles Heel Showed by the Norwich Team

Even though the Norwich threatened Arsenals several times, especially in the second half, yet an absorbent. And leaky defense remains their weak spot as the Arsenal Gunner Aubameyang was twice teed up by opposing the players; either side of laying on Granit Xhaka’s first goal in the war campaign of the game. Cedric Soares, who was signed on loan in January, from Southampton made a memorable return from an injury with a debut goal. He found a chance to make it and didn’t lose the opportunity. The Gunner’s captain made his first goal by handing on a platter by Tim Krul, the opposite goalkeeper, who foolishly gave him a chance to reach his 50 Premier League strikes. Thus the fastest Arsenal player reached a half-century in just 79 appearances.

The Norwich Got Many Chances, But All in Vain

Unfortunately, Aubameyang could not make even a goal in his last four league games, and his worst barren spell for over five years. But here we see that the goal he has made today means Arsenal is about to move up to seventh and ahead of north London rivals Tottenham. For getting a tough time from Norwich defenders, Aubameyang had an even start. Unexpectedly, Norwich got many chances, but they could not make any point. Aubameyang got a clear chance to throw the ball in the net seeing his low effort pushed clear by Norwich goalkeeper Krul.

Xhaka’s First-Ever Goal in Almost 14 Months

Ben Godfrey the center back of Norwich squad got a chance to debut the goal from his team. He made his effort to make the goal as he was defended by Emiliano Martinez sprawling across his goal. From Arsenal squad Alexandre Lacazette headed straight into the hands of Norwich player Krul – but the Norwich stopper would soon be left embarrassed. After just a few minutes, Norwich have seen the whole game losing, when Aubameyang and Kieran Tierney combined before Kieran fed Xhaka, who made his first league goal in almost 13 months.

Even Change too Couldn’t Do Any Good for the Norwich

Soon the Norwich boss Daniel Farke showed his reaction when he made a trio of half-time changes. He sent Adam Idah, who drew another smart stop made by Arsenal player Martinez soon after the restart. Still fighting the battle of the game, the Norwich bench was left exasperated as referee Peter Bankes. And the video assistant referee decided that Sead Kolasinac had not made any foul with Todd Cantwell inside the box.

How Aubameyang Got Control On The Ball?

The Norwich squad had looked sharper for most of the second half until their defensive weaknesses were once again. And gave the opposite team the goal. A Norwich throw-in inside from their own half was sent towards substitute Josip Drmic; who chose to send the ball back into the Canaries’ penalty area. The ball came in Aubameyang’s control and straight to Aubameyang who made his half-century complete.

The Conclusion

The gloss was smeared to this Arsenal display by debutant Soares. Was looking for just four minutes to mark his long-awaited debut with a goal as he was struck from the edge of the box.
